As the Spring Term drew to a close, pupils in the Senior School at St Gabriel’s came together for a truly meaningful initiative in support of the West Berkshire Food Bank.

On Friday 6 March, our GCSE and A Level Classicists enjoyed an inspiring trip to Oxford, bringing their classroom learning to life through the study of remarkable ancient artefacts at the world-famous Ashmolean Museum.

We are delighted to celebrate the success of Year 10 pupil, Aditi, who recently competed in the Austrian Junior Squash Open, held in Vienna from 27 February to 1 March 2026.

On Friday 13 February, our Year 8 pupils treated the Junior School to a wonderfully entertaining pop-up play, bringing a touch of Valentine’s fun and creativity to the end of term.

On Tuesday 4th February, a group of Senior and Sixth Form pupils from St Gabriel’s took part in the Oxford Union Schools’ Debating Competition, hosted at Oxford High School.

On Tuesday 3 February, Year 9 Geography pupils enjoyed an educational visit to Bristol Aquarium, where they took part in a guided tour centred around the theme “Save Our Seas.”

Three of our senior pupils – Liam N (Year 9), Olivia B (Year 9) and Jonah L (Year 8) – proudly represented Berkshire at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships on Saturday 31 January.

On Wednesday 21 January, Year 9 pupils visited Bletchley Park, the historic Buckinghamshire estate that served as the centre of Britain’s codebreaking operations during the Second World War.

Year 7 Academic Scholars took part in a fascinating biology seminar on Tuesday 20 January, gaining first-hand insight into how fish are specially adapted to extract oxygen from water.

On Saturday 17 January, St Gabriel’s pupils took part in the Berkshire Schools Cross Country Championships, held at Newbury Showground, delivering a series of impressive performances in challenging conditions.

On Tuesday 13 January, two St Gabriel’s teams of pupils from Years 7–9 took part in the First LEGO League regional competition, held at Oxford Brookes University and organised by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Congratulations to St Gabriel's Dance, Drama and Academic Scholar Helena in Year 9, who was recently awarded Second Place at the Royal Wootton Bassett Speech and Drama Festival, for her dramatic monologue performance.
