Year 6 have returned from an action‑packed week at Mill on the Brue Outdoor Adventure Centre in Somerset — a trip filled with challenge, teamwork and unforgettable moments.

The Junior School has spent the past week immersed in a vibrant celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, taking inspiration from his lifelong mission to explore, understand and protect the natural world.

Five St Gabriel’s Junior pupils took on an impressive challenge on Sunday 17 May, completing the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon at Marlborough College — the UK’s largest sporting fundraising event for children aged 7–13.
On Tuesday 28 April, our excited Year 3 pupils hopped onto the minibuses for a much‑anticipated visit to The Living Rainforest — the closest we’ll get to experiencing a real rainforest in Berkshire, with more than 850 species of plants and animals under one roof.

On Tuesday 5 May, our Nursery and Reception children enjoyed a wonderful morning of imaginative play as the Pop Up Play Village returned to St Gabriel’s.

Year 4 pupils at St Gabriel’s have once again impressed us with their remarkable model Tudor houses, created as part of their History learning on the Tudor period.

We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding sporting achievement from Year 4 pupil, Sophie, who competed in the ISKA British Championships last weekend.

It has been almost impossible to choose a single highlight from Year 6’s study of Australia this term. The topic has opened up a world of striking landscapes, unique wildlife and fascinating human stories, and the children have thrown themselves into every aspect of their learning.

On Monday 23 March, Year 5 pupils enjoyed an exciting and immersive trip to Reading Museum, where they stepped back in time to experience life as a Victorian schoolchild.

On Friday 20 March, the Junior School came alive with music, laughter and plenty of dancing at the much-loved Junior School Disco.

The Nursery and Junior School were a riot of colour today as pupils came together to celebrate Red Nose Day in support of Comic Relief.
