St Gabriel’s

Library

There are two libraries on site at St Gabriel’s.

The Junior School Library is a cosy space for use by pupils from Year 3 up to Year 6. The library houses resources covering a wide range of fiction and non fiction subjects; there is also a small collection of puzzles and games. The library is open at lunch time and a rota ensures pupils have at least two opportunities to visit the library each week. Pupils receive an induction session in Year 3 to show them how the library is arranged. Pupils are encouraged to ask our experienced librarian for help in their reading choices, if required.

The Senior School Library was refurbished in 2019 to provide a calm and comfortable setting in which pupils from Year 7 up to Sixth Form are welcome to study or read for pleasure. There are more than 4000 resources for pupils to use, covering a range of subjects and literary genres. The library is open at break times and lunch times for private reading, homework or study; laptops are available for library use. Pupils in Year 7 receive an induction session to help them make full use of the resources and facilities. Help and guidance is available from our qualified librarian.
