We are delighted to celebrate an exceptional weekend of sporting success for three St Gabriel’s pupils — Liam (Year 9), Declan (Year 7) and future pupil Sophie, who joins Year 7 in September.

Year 5 enjoyed a brilliant start to the week on Monday 20 April as they welcomed firefighters from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service for a morning of hands-on learning and fire safety education.

We are incredibly proud of our Head Prefect, Elsy (Year 13), who recently took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon — an inspiring achievement made even more impressive by the fact that she only began running six months ago.

We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding sporting achievement from Year 4 pupil, Sophie, who competed in the ISKA British Championships last weekend.

On Monday 16 March, pupils in the Junior School were treated to a wonderful day of creativity and imagination as professional poet Rachel Piercey spent the day working with them.

It has been almost impossible to choose a single highlight from Year 6’s study of Australia this term. The topic has opened up a world of striking landscapes, unique wildlife and fascinating human stories, and the children have thrown themselves into every aspect of their learning.

Over the weekend of 21–22 March, Year 4 pupil Sophie delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 WMAC English Championships, the official qualifying event for this year’s World Championships in Bregenz, Austria.

Year 11 pupil Francesca (“Chess”) has showcased exceptional culinary talent this term, progressing through both the local heats and the district final of the Rotary Club Young Chef Competition—a national initiative open to pupils aged 11–17.

This term, our Year 7 geographers delved into the fascinating topic of urbanisation, with a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges faced by people living in urban areas of low-income countries.

Bathed in glorious spring sunshine, our Nursery families gathered on Sunday 22 March for one of the most cherished events in the early years calendar: the annual PTA Nursery Easter Egg Hunt.
