Wycombe Wanderers Football Club is a professional association football club based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, competing in League One, the third tier of the English football league system. Being selected to join their U16 squad is a significant achievement and reflects Lyra’s dedication, talent and long‑standing commitment to the sport.

Lyra has been playing football outside of school for nine years, developing her skills and passion through consistent training and competitive play. The selection process for the Wycombe Wanderers U16 team was both demanding and thorough, involving six weeks of weekly training sessions every Tuesday, during which coaches assessed players’ technical ability, teamwork and potential.

Following this, Lyra was invited to take part in an 80‑minute match, where final decisions were made. Her performance impressed the coaching team, earning her a well‑deserved place in the squad.

Reflecting on her achievement, Lyra shared: “I’m proud to join and excited to progress my football further.”
