St Gabriel’s Senior Drama Scholars enjoyed an unforgettable theatre experience on Thursday 21 May as part of the school’s Challenge and Extension programme, travelling to London’s Victoria Palace Theatre to see the internationally acclaimed musical Hamilton.

National Children’s Gardening Week is all about inspiring children’s curiosity and giving them the chance to experience the magic of growing things — especially at this time of year, when warm weather brings quick, exciting results from seed sowing and planting.

Year 5 have returned from a truly memorable residential trip to Magdalen Farm Residential Environmental Centre, set on the beautiful Somerset–Dorset border.

Year 6 have returned from an action‑packed week at Mill on the Brue Outdoor Adventure Centre in Somerset — a trip filled with challenge, teamwork and unforgettable moments.

The Junior School has spent the past week immersed in a vibrant celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, taking inspiration from his lifelong mission to explore, understand and protect the natural world.

Year 9 pupil Liam N delivered an impressive performance at the British Schools Biathle Championships last weekend, despite carrying a back issue that has affected his training in recent weeks.

St Gabriel’s proudly hosted the official launch of our 2026 Greenpower cars on Tuesday 19 May, celebrating the creativity, teamwork and engineering skill of the 35 pupils from Years 7 to 11 who make up this year’s Greenpower team.

St Gabriel’s was delighted to host the Newbury Schools Relay on Wednesday 20 May, welcoming approximately 140 pupils from seven schools across West Berkshire to our athletics track for an evening of energetic competition, teamwork and community spirit.

On Wednesday 20 May, Year 13 pupils Vaibhavi and Shivani attended a special garden party reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

St Gabriel’s Drama and Music Scholars treated families to a truly enchanting evening on Tuesday 12 May with an outdoor performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Five St Gabriel’s Junior pupils took on an impressive challenge on Sunday 17 May, completing the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon at Marlborough College — the UK’s largest sporting fundraising event for children aged 7–13.
