Year 11 Geographers Explore Urban Regeneration in Bristol

On Tuesday 2 December, our Year 11 Geography pupils travelled to Bristol to carry out vital human geography fieldwork as part of their GCSE studies.
Their focus for the day was the regeneration of the Temple Quarter — one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious urban redevelopment projects.
Pupils worked in groups to investigate how the area is being transformed, collecting first-hand data, observing land use changes and assessing the social and economic impact of regeneration on the local community. This practical experience brought their classroom learning to life and deepened their understanding of the complexities of urban change.
After completing their fieldwork, the group enjoyed some well-earned downtime with a visit to Cabot Circus for lunch, before returning to school.
It was a productive and enjoyable day, providing valuable insight into real-world geographical processes and supporting pupils in developing their fieldwork confidence ahead of their exams.
