Senior School Hits the Road for Activity Days Part II

On Friday 27 June, St Gabriel’s Senior School took learning well beyond the classroom walls, as pupils from Years 7 to 12 enjoyed Activity Days Part II — a full day of fun, culture and adventure at destinations across southern England.

With the sun shining and spirits high, each year group embarked on a tailored off-site trip designed to round off the academic year with a sense of celebration, exploration and well-earned enjoyment.

Year 7 journeyed to Cadbury World in Birmingham, where they explored the chocolate-making process from bean to bar. With immersive exhibits, interactive experiences, and plenty of delicious samples, the trip was a true sensory delight.

Year 8 immersed themselves in history and heritage with a visit to Bath. After touring the awe-inspiring Roman Baths, they enjoyed wandering through the stunning Georgian streets, absorbing the charm and beauty of this historic city.

Year 9 ventured deep into the New Forest for a day of adrenaline and adventure at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre. Pupils tackled high zip lines and a series of team-building challenges, building resilience, confidence and a few unforgettable memories along the way.

Year 10 took on the thrills of Thorpe Park, enjoying high-speed rollercoasters and gravity-defying rides. A highlight of the day? Mrs Brazendale’s impressive hoop-shooting skills at one of the fairground games, earning her a giant sloth prize and a big cheer from pupils!

Year 12 headed to Oxford, soaking in the culture at the world-renowned Ashmolean Museum before taking time to explore the historic city, grab a bite, and shop for souvenirs. The day concluded with a relaxed picnic lunch in the picturesque Christ Church Meadows.

It was a brilliant day of adventure and enrichment across the Senior School – a perfect way to celebrate a year of incredible progress, hard work and community spirit. We are proud of everything our pupils have achieved this year, and Activity Days Part II offered a joyful and well-deserved reward.
