Senior Pupils Shine in a Week of Musical Performances

St Gabriel’s Senior pupils have showcased some exceptional musical talent over the past week, with two vibrant performance opportunities bringing our school community together in celebration of creativity and confidence.

On Friday 1 May, pupils gathered in the Theatre for a special Live Lounge concert, performing some of their favourite pieces in an informal, supportive setting. With peers cheering them on, performers embraced the chance to share music they love, from contemporary chart hits to expressive instrumental works.

After the bank holiday weekend, the music continued with a Senior Lunchtime Concert on Tuesday 5 May, featuring pupils from Years 7 to 10. The programme offered a wonderfully varied mix of styles, with performances on piano and flute ranging from modern avant‑garde composers such as Ligeti to contemporary artists including Lewis Capaldi. Each pupil delivered a confident and polished performance, demonstrating both skill and musical maturity.

These informal concerts — a regular feature of the musical life at St Gabriel’s — provide pupils with invaluable opportunities to practise performing in public, build confidence, and share their progress with friends and staff in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

A huge well done to all our performers for their hard work, courage and musicianship. Their enthusiasm continues to enrich our school community and inspire others to get involved.
