Year 9 Pupil Represents Great Britain at European Championships in Turkey

We are incredibly proud of Liam N (Year 9), who recently returned from Alanya, Turkey, where he represented Great Britain at the European Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run Championships from 3–10 November.

Competing as a first-year athlete in the U15 age category, Liam was one of only four GB athletes selected to take part in all three disciplines — a significant achievement in itself.

The Championships began with the Laser Run, where Liam completed three shooting rounds and three 600m runs, finishing a strong 11th overall against a highly competitive field.

Although originally not scheduled to compete in any relay events, Liam stepped in at short notice to support a GB Triathle relay team. His strong performance on the opening leg and notable display of sportsmanship helped set up the GB A team for a well-earned silver medal.

In the individual Triathle, Liam delivered an impressive series of shoots, runs and a sea swim, finishing 4th in his heat and 13th overall once times from both heats were combined.

The Championships concluded with the Biathle (run–swim–run). Liam produced another excellent performance, finishing 12th overall, narrowly missing out on a GB team medal by just one second.

With another year to go in the U15 age category, Liam’s results at this level are hugely encouraging. His determination, improving form across all elements, and commitment to representing Great Britain so well leave him extremely well-placed as he looks ahead to the next European Championships in Madeira this June.

Congratulations, Liam — a fantastic achievement and a brilliant example of dedication, resilience and team spirit.
