Year 11 Experience Sixth Form Life at A-Level Taster Day

On Thursday 27 November, our Year 11 pupils enjoyed an exciting A-Level Taster Day, giving them the chance to explore life in the Sixth Form and sample a range of subjects.

The day offered pupils a taste of both traditional and contemporary A-Level courses, from Latin and Computer Science to Business, Psychology, Drama, Textiles, and the Sciences. Students were also able to experience the Sixth Form enrichment afternoon, with some Kin Ball fun thrown in,  and enjoy the freedom of wearing their own clothes for the day, helping them get a real sense of what life in the Sixth Form is like.

Hannah Trevis, Head of Sixth Form, said:
"I am so proud of how our Year 11 pupils embraced the day. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to look beyond their current focus on GCSEs, consider their future options, and get excited about the next stage of their learning journey."

Pupils relished the opportunity to explore new subjects. One commented:
"I really enjoyed trying out Psychology and Drama – it’s made me think differently about what I might want to study in Sixth Form!"

The A-Level Taster Day provided an invaluable experience, helping our students make informed choices about their next steps and inspiring them as they consider the wide range of opportunities available in the Sixth Form.
