Senior Sports Day 2025: A Celebration of Team Spirit and Athletic Talent
On Thursday 3 July, the entire Senior School came together for one of the most anticipated events of the summer term – Senior Sports Day, held at Crookham Common Athletics Track.
With blue skies and glorious sunshine overhead, the day was a true celebration of sport, teamwork, and house spirit. Pupils competed in a wide range of athletic events, from sprints and long-distance runs to long jump and vortex throw. Each year group took part in a full schedule of events, culminating in a gripping sprint final and the ever-popular House Relay competition.
The House spirit was out in full force, with pupils proudly representing their colours through homemade banners, body paint, tutus, and colourful pom-poms. The vibrant atmosphere was matched by the enthusiastic cheers from both peers and staff, creating an electric sense of camaraderie throughout the day.
An ice cream van on site proved a welcome treat for pupils, staff, and spectating parents alike, helping everyone stay cool as the competition heated up.
The level of effort, determination, and talent on display was truly impressive. There were some incredible performances throughout the day with at least 25 school records broken across the Vortex, 800m, long jump, and 100m sprint. Pupils gave their all—whether striving for personal bests, supporting their teammates, or simply enjoying the opportunity to be active and involved.
After a fiercely competitive day, Chad House emerged victorious, narrowly beating Alban to take the top spot. A huge congratulations to all of the pupils who participated and contributed to such a memorable day.
Senior Sports Day 2025 was a shining example of what makes St Gabriel’s so special—community spirit, teamwork, and the joy of celebrating every pupil’s strengths.
