Year 8 Enjoy a Spellbinding Visit to the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour

On Wednesday 3 December, our Year 8 pupils stepped into the magical world of Harry Potter on their much-anticipated annual trip to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – a beloved tradition and a highlight of the Autumn term in Drama.
The visit forms an exciting part of the Year 8 Drama curriculum, giving pupils an enriching, behind-the-scenes insight into the craft of storytelling, stage design and film production. This year’s group were captivated as they explored the iconic sets, costumes and props that brought J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world to life.
A standout moment of the day was the exclusive educational workshop delivered by the Studio’s in-house learning team. Pupils had the rare opportunity to examine and handle key costumes, prosthetics and props used in the films, discovering how skilled designers and makers use materials, texture and detail to build believable characters and settings.
They then put their creativity to the test by making their own model boxes—miniature set designs that help filmmakers plan atmosphere, scale and visual impact. Another engaging activity involved analysing set photographs as a group, carefully decoding the emotive visual storytelling woven into every scene.
The trip was a wonderful way to open the festive season at school, filled with curiosity, learning and a touch of magic. Pupils (and staff!) returned inspired, energised, and full of excitement!
