Representing Basingstoke and Mid Hants Athletics Club, Liam competed in the 2.5km event for young runners aged 9–15, crossing the finish line in an impressive 7 minutes and 41 seconds to secure his place on the podium.

Adding to the excitement of the occasion, the awards were presented by Scottish record holder and Olympic athlete Andy Butchart, making Liam's podium finish an even more memorable experience.

It was also a fantastic family occasion, with Liam's younger sister, Sophie, taking part in the event. Sophie delivered a brilliant performance of her own, completing the course in a highly commendable 9 minutes and 55 seconds.

The Junior Great South Run offers young athletes a wonderful opportunity to experience the excitement of a major running event, and it is lovely to see both Liam and Sophie enjoying such success.

A huge well done to them both on their excellent performances. We are delighted to celebrate their achievements and look forward to following their continued sporting success!
