Nursery Children Celebrate the Festival of Holi

Our Nursery children recently enjoyed learning about the vibrant Hindu festival of Holi, often known as the Festival of Colours.
Holi is a joyful celebration that marks the arrival of spring and symbolises new beginnings, friendship and the triumph of good over evil. It is traditionally celebrated with colourful powders, music and dancing, and provided a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to explore colour and creativity in a meaningful way.
In the Baby Room, the children marked the occasion by exploring brightly coloured chalk paints. With great enthusiasm, they experimented with mark-making, using their hands and tools to create bold, expressive patterns. The sensory experience encouraged curiosity and creativity, as the babies discovered how colours could be blended and spread in different ways.
The celebrations continued outdoors, where the children used chalk on the pavement to create their own vibrant designs. The space quickly filled with colour, laughter and exploration — a lovely reflection of the spirit of Holi itself.
Through activities such as these, our Nursery children are gently introduced to different cultures and traditions from around the world, helping to foster curiosity, understanding and respect from an early age.
It was a joyful and colourful way to celebrate together.
