Knitting and Stitching Show!

Year 9 and Year 10 - 13 Textiles students took a trip to Alexander Palace in London for the Knitting and Stitching Show.

The Knitting and Stitching show displays textile work by a variety of artists, and was an amazing opportunity to learn about the work from the artists themselves. Creating such pieces takes perseverance, creativity, skill, and individuality. The pupils learnt about different textile techniques in more detail, such as, quilting, cross-stitching, knitting, crochet, and hand stitching. There was also the opportunity to purchase a range of products from the stalls, such as clothing patterns, crochet kits, fabrics and other sewing tools to create their own pieces! This trip showed exactly what a subject such as textiles has to offer!
