Imagination Comes to Life at Pop Up Play Village

Last week, our youngest learners in Nursery and Reception were treated to a magical morning of imaginative fun as we welcomed the Pop Up Play Village to St Gabriel’s.
The session transformed the space into a bustling world of role-play, with immersive zones including a building site, café, vet’s surgery, post office, and home corner – complete with a baby care area.
The children were absolutely captivated as they stepped into a variety of roles – from friendly shopkeepers and caring vets to enthusiastic builders and postal workers. Whether they were serving customers in the café, looking after poorly pets, or donning hard hats on the construction site, every moment was filled with joy, creativity and discovery.
More than just fun, the session offered valuable opportunities for collaborative play, language development, mark making, and emergent writing. Children practised real-world skills in a safe, stimulating environment that encouraged communication, confidence and curiosity. It was particularly exciting to see them take on both familiar and new roles with such enthusiasm and imagination.
The Pop Up Play Village is a specially designed early years experience that uses themed role-play areas to support child development through play. Created by an expert in early years education, it offers children the chance to explore the world around them in a meaningful and engaging way – and it’s safe to say our pupils loved every minute.
A big thank you to Pop Up Play for bringing their village to life at St Gabriel’s. It was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest learners to engage in rich, purposeful play – and to share in some very big adventures in their very own little world.
