New Nursery Resources from Edwards Lifesciences Ltd

We’re delighted to share some fantastic new additions to our Nursery, made possible by the generosity of one of our Nursery parents, Emily Copeman, and her employer, Edwards Lifesciences Ltd.
Edwards Lifesciences is a global leader in patient-focussed medical innovations for structural heart disease as we as critical care and surgical monitoring. From their Newbury office, the company runs a quarterly community outreach programme — and thanks to Emily’s application, St Gabriel’s Nursery was selected to receive funding this quarter.
The kind donation has allowed us to develop a fantastic new Maths area in the Pre-School room, filled with engaging and hands-on learning resources. The children are already enjoying a wide variety of new equipment, including weighing scales, dominoes, 3D shapes, clock faces, gems (a particular favourite!), five-frames for subitising, pine cones, and many other items that support counting, sorting, building and imaginative play. These additions are helping to bring early mathematical learning to life, supporting important skills in a fun and playful way as our children prepare for the transition to Reception.
In addition, the Toddler outdoor playground has benefited from two brand-new balance bikes. Perfectly sized for little legs, the bikes are proving hugely popular, helping to strengthen coordination, develop core stability, and boost confidence through physical play.
We are incredibly grateful to Emily and to Edwards Lifesciences Ltd for their generous support. Their contribution is already having a visible impact on our youngest learners — thank you!
