St Gabriel’s

Outstanding Performances at the ISA National Athletics Championships

Year 9 pupil Olivia B and Year 7 pupil Declan O’C delivered exceptional performances at the ISA National Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Monday 15 June.

Having secured their places at last month’s ISA London West qualifying event, both athletes went on to represent St Gabriel’s on the national stage with confidence and determination.

In the U15 Girls’ 800m, Olivia produced a superb race to finish 2nd, setting a new personal best of 2:19. This result continues her impressive run of form; only two days earlier she placed 2nd in the U15 300m at the Berkshire County Championships at Palmer Park in Reading. Olivia is enjoying a remarkable season, showing strength, consistency and real competitive maturity.

Declan competed in the U13 Boys’ 100m, finishing 5th in a tightly contested sprint. He then went on to deliver a standout performance in the U13 Long Jump, where he claimed gold with an outstanding jump that put him clear of the field. His result marks him as one of the most exciting young jumpers in the competition.

Both pupils demonstrated exceptional commitment and composure throughout the Championships, representing St Gabriel’s with pride and professionalism.

A huge well done to Olivia and Declan on their achievements — they are each having a phenomenal season, and we look forward to seeing what comes next for them.
