Year 9 Complete Their Bronze D of E Expedition with Flying Colours

Over the weekend of 14 June, our Year 9 pupils took on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition assessment – a real test of endurance, planning and teamwork.
Setting off from Kintbury, the pupils successfully navigated a challenging route through the countryside to Hungerford via Linkenholt, including the steep ascent to Combe Gibbet – no small feat, particularly while carrying full camping gear!
The expedition required pupils to put their route planning and map reading skills into action, as well as demonstrate self-sufficiency during an overnight camp. We are delighted to report that every participant passed the assessment with flying colours, showing great resilience and camaraderie throughout.
Congratulations to all involved – and with such a positive experience under their belts, many are already looking ahead to the Silver challenge next year!
