The trip had originally been planned as the pupils’ Year 9 Activity Day at the end of the summer term, but had to be postponed due to the extreme heatwave. Rescheduled for the beginning of the new academic year, it proved to be a fantastic way for the year group to kick off their Year 10 experience together.

Set within Dinton Pastures Country Park near Wokingham, the activity centre provided plenty of opportunities for pupils to get active and test their skills. Throughout the day, they took on a range of outdoor pursuits, including kayaking, climbing and team challenges, as well as enjoying a trip out on the water in pedalos.

Whether navigating the water, tackling the climbing wall or working together to solve challenges, the activities encouraged pupils to communicate, support one another and step outside their comfort zones – with plenty of fun along the way.

With the start of Year 10 marking an important new stage in their Senior School journey, the day offered a welcome opportunity to spend time together away from the classroom before getting fully immersed in the year ahead.

It may have arrived a little later than originally planned, but it was certainly worth the wait – and a brilliant way to begin their GCSE year!
