Year 10 Christmas Market Brings Festive Fun and Fundraising

On Friday 6 December, the St Gabriel’s Theatre was buzzing with festive excitement as our Year 10 Business Studies pupils hosted their first Christmas Market.

This event marked the culmination of a half-term project, in which pupils created their own mini-businesses—from developing a business idea and execution plan to designing marketing materials and manning their stalls.

Each team chose a charity to support, and the market offered a wonderful variety of festive treats and activities, including decorating gingerbread biscuits, a Nerf gun target range, a “spin the wheel” game from the Naughty or Nice box, and plenty of sweet and baked goodies. The market proved hugely popular with senior pupils from Years 7 to Sixth Form, as well as school staff, who enjoyed sampling the pupils’ entrepreneurial efforts.

The event not only raised funds for a range of charitable causes but also gave Year 10 pupils invaluable experience in planning, marketing, customer service, and teamwork. A big well done to Mr Norris and his cohort for a fantastic initiative—we hope it becomes a cherished annual tradition!
