St Gabriel’s Juniors Donate Over 225 Gifts to the West Berkshire Toy Appeal

The spirit of giving has been shining brightly in the Junior School this Christmas, as our pupils and families came together to support the West Berkshire Toy Appeal with extraordinary generosity.
After two weeks of collecting donations, our Juniors gathered an incredible 225+ brand-new toys, each one destined to bring joy to a local child this Christmas. From puzzles and books to dolls, games and creative kits, the gifts created a heart-warming display during Monday’s assembly on 8 December—a true celebration of kindness and community spirit.
Following the assembly, our Year 6 pupils took on a special responsibility. They helped carefully load the toys into the St Gabriel’s minibus and travelled with staff to the Swift Group donation point, where the gifts were warmly received by volunteers from The Swift Group and The Community Furniture Project. Their efforts ensured that every donation will reach children whose families may be facing financial challenges this festive season.
The Toy Appeal plays a vital role in supporting families across West Berkshire, working with local schools, social workers, the council and support services to identify those most in need. By contributing to the appeal, our Junior School community has helped spread Christmas joy far beyond our school gates—and we are incredibly proud of their compassion.
A huge thank you to every family who donated so generously. Your kindness will make a meaningful difference to children across our local area.
