Mya P Shines in a Summer of Sporting Success

Year 8 pupil Mya Panchal has had an action-packed summer, balancing her passion for both football and cricket with outstanding success.
In July, Mya travelled to Sweden to represent England in the U12 category at the Gothia Youth Cup, the world’s largest youth football tournament. Competing against teams from across the globe — including Sweden, the USA, and Singapore — her team progressed through the group stages and reached the last 16. It was a remarkable achievement and an unforgettable international experience.
Alongside football, Mya has continued to make impressive strides in cricket. This summer, she played her first Women’s 1st XI match, making her the youngest member of the team. Facing opponents aged 18–35, she rose to the challenge with confidence and skill.
Mya has also been named an ambassador for Maiden Cricket, receiving an enthusiastic response as she promotes opportunities for young girls in the game while continuing to develop her own skills. Her passion for inspiring others was further highlighted when she was invited to Lord’s Cricket Ground, where she took part in a specialist training session and a Q&A on the future of girls’ cricket.
Most recently, Mya appeared on BBC Radio Berkshire and was interviewed for That's TV, speaking about her ambassador role, her love for sport, and her commitment to encouraging young girls to aim high and follow their sporting dreams.
We are incredibly proud of Mya’s achievements this summer and look forward to seeing what she will accomplish next — both on the pitch and at the crease.
