Y1 in the Rainforest

Year 1 enjoyed a fabulous trip to The Living Rainforest in Hampstead Norreys, which linked with their learning on Bangladesh.

Rainforest visit

They were treated to two tours titled 'Amazing Adaptations' and 'Edible Rainforest', where they learnt lots of interesting facts about how animals and plants have adapted to living in a rainforest environment. Some of their most memorable facts included:

"Snakes stay still and wait for their prey to come close then pounce on it."

Milly

"The armadillo had keratin on its body and lots of hair."

Henry

"When pygmy monkeys are born they are the size of your little finger."

Pierce

"One gold dart frog can poison 20 adults or 40 children."

Siddhi

The teachers were very proud of Year 1 for the listening skills and excellent behaviour shown on the trip.
