On Saturday 20 June, the sun shone down on our beautiful school grounds as families, staff and pupils gathered for one of the highlights of the St Gabriel’s summer calendar – The Big Bash.

This much-anticipated annual event, brilliantly organised by our PTA, brought together the whole school community for an unforgettable afternoon of fun, food and festivity. With a refreshing welcome drink on arrival, guests were invited to relax and enjoy a packed line-up of entertainment, activities and live music.

Children were kept thoroughly entertained with Flowmotion circus performers, Little Munchkins face painting, and a range of classic summer fete attractions, including the teddy bear tombola, coconut shy, flower garland making, and inflatables. There was even a chance to explore a hot air balloon basket and learn how they operate – although the breezy conditions kept it firmly on the ground!

The crowd was treated to a mouth-watering BBQ feast, provided by our fantastic catering and maintenance teams, and enjoyed delicious ice creams while soaking up the brilliant Milo Max Function Band, who kept the party atmosphere going throughout the afternoon.

A particular highlight was the much-anticipated Dads vs Kids football match, which drew a cheering crowd and plenty of laughs – a great example of the joyful spirit that defined the day.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PTA for their incredible efforts in organising such a vibrant and well-run event, and to our families, staff, and pupils for attending and making the Big Bash 2025 such a resounding success.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
