Year 9 Dazzle in Colour Draping Fashion Challenge

On Thursday 9 October, our Year 9 Textiles students took part in an exciting Colour Draping Fashion Challenge, putting their creativity, collaboration, and design skills to the test.

Pupils worked in teams to transform an array of fabrics into imaginative, themed outfits. The challenge saw a fantastic range of ideas brought to life, from Mother Nature to Gothic Bride and even Angry Bird, with each team carefully combining colours, textures, and patterns to bring their concepts to life.

The competition was judged by Mrs Edwards, who praised the students for their innovation, teamwork, and bold use of colour. After a spirited contest, Red Team emerged as the winners, closely followed by Green Team, with all participants demonstrating impressive skill and enthusiasm.

The Colour Draping Challenge provided an excellent opportunity for Year 9 pupils to explore hands-on design, work collaboratively, and showcase their creative flair – a perfect example of the vibrant and engaging learning experiences in the St Gabriel’s Textiles department.
