Year 3 Step Back in Time at Butser Ancient Farm

On Tuesday 7 October, our Year 3 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Butser Ancient Farm, a unique site where archaeologists bring history to life by recreating and testing ancient technologies.
The children threw themselves into a range of hands-on activities, from chalk carving and making Stone Age-style cordage, to wattle-and-daub building and exploring reconstructed Bronze Age homes. Each task gave them a vivid sense of how people lived, worked and built communities thousands of years ago.
The trip not only complemented their classroom learning but also provided a chance to experience history in the most engaging way — by trying it for themselves. Year 3 returned full of stories, skills and inspiration from their day stepping into the past.
