Toddler Room Visit the St Gabriel’s Chickens!

On Friday 21 March, our Toddler Room children embarked on a very special adventure—to visit the resident St Gabriel’s chickens in their brand-new coop!
The children made their way to the Reception House playground, where three friendly brown hens were eagerly awaiting their visitors. Accompanied by Katie G, the toddlers watched in excitement as she ventured into the coop to collect the freshly laid eggs. Their curiosity grew as Reception teacher Mrs Bloxsom popped outside to greet them and even introduced them to one of the hens up close!
With wide-eyed wonder, the toddlers took turns stroking the chicken’s soft feathers, chatting about what chickens do and, of course, what you can make with eggs—one little one even suggested more chickens!
After their hands-on learning experience, the children carefully carried the fresh eggs back to the Toddler Room, where they were put to good use in an afternoon cooking session. A truly egg-cellent day of discovery, learning, and fun!
