Sponsored Toddle Raises Funds for Barnardo’s

On the warm afternoon of Tuesday 10 June, our youngest pupils took to the beautiful school grounds for the annual Sponsored Toddle, all in support of the children’s charity Barnardo’s.

Children from Babies to Reception, joined by parents and staff, set off on a delightful walk around the lake and through the Big Woods, covering just under a mile. With encouraging cheers, smiles and plenty of helping hands from Mums, Dads, and grandparents, the children embraced the challenge with great enthusiasm.

The journey was full of magical moments – from spotting a frog found by Nursery staff member David, to collecting fallen sticks and vibrant petals from the blooming purple rhododendrons. Along the way, our Reception class offered words of encouragement and high fives, lifting the spirits of their younger friends and showing just how strong the St Gabriel’s community spirit is.

After their woodland adventure, everyone gathered in the marquee on the back lawn for some well-deserved refreshments. The highlight? Delicious homemade shortbread biscuits, enjoyed by toddlers and grown-ups alike.

This lovely event not only brought families together, but also raised vital funds for Barnardo’s, helping to support vulnerable children across the UK.
