Leon Hits 200 Marathons in Style – Rhino Suit and All

We are incredibly proud to share that our Catering Manager, Leon Hicks, successfully completed the 2025 London Marathon on Sunday 27 April — an event that marked not only his 200th full marathon, but also his first ever attempt wearing a 12kg rhino suit in aid of the charity Save the Rhino.

What made this milestone even more memorable was Leon’s decision to take on the iconic race in a 12kg rhino suit, running in support of the charity Save the Rhino. With temperatures soaring on one of the hottest days of the year, Leon wisely chose to walk the marathon rather than run, completing the gruelling 26.2-mile course in an impressive 7 hours and 24 minutes.

The atmosphere, Leon said, was “incredible,” with fellow runners stopping him constantly for selfies and encouragement. He even made an appearance on the BBC’s live coverage of the event, thanks to his unforgettable outfit and determined effort.

So far, Leon has raised nearly £1,500 for Save the Rhino — a fantastic total for an equally fantastic cause. If you would like to support Leon’s fundraising, please get in touch with the school for more information.

Congratulations to Leon on an amazing effort and an extraordinary milestone — we’re all inspired by your determination and commitment!
