Joining nearly 5,000 children and their teachers from schools across the country, our pupils took part in an afternoon rehearsal before the excitement built as families filled the auditorium for the evening concert. The atmosphere was electric as the massed choir performed a vibrant and varied programme.

There were firm favourites throughout the night — from the rousing sea shanty medley and energetic pop mash-up to songs from Wicked, culminating in a glittering “Disco Fever” finale. A particular highlight was the lively kids vs parents hip hop dance-off led by street dance crew Urban Strides — with plenty of enthusiasm shown on both sides!

It was a wonderfully uplifting, energetic (and delightfully noisy!) experience that our pupils will remember for a long time. We are already looking forward to returning in two years’ time for another spectacular Young Voices concert.
