Following the success of the inaugural event in 2025, the Colour Run returned for a second year, welcoming members of our school community aged four and upwards for an afternoon of fun, laughter and more than a little colourful chaos!

The event began on the lawns with an energetic group warm-up, led by our fantastic parent volunteers, before runners set off on a 1.5km loop through our beautiful school grounds. The route took participants across the back lawns, through the woods and around the lake – with strategically positioned volunteers along the way ensuring that nobody reached the finish line looking quite as clean as when they started!

Clouds of brightly coloured powder filled the air as runners made their way around the course, with pupils, parents and staff embracing the fun and crossing the finish line covered from head to toe in every colour imaginable.

After completing the course, everyone gathered on the back field for well-earned refreshments and the chance to enjoy the remainder of the afternoon together.

Now firmly established as a highlight of the PTA calendar, the Colour Run is a wonderful example of the community spirit that makes St Gabriel’s so special. As well as providing a memorable afternoon for families from across the school, the event raises valuable funds for our PTA, helping them to support activities and initiatives that enrich school life for our pupils.

A huge thank you goes to Robyn Hedger for spearheading the organisation of this year’s event, to our PTA and brilliant team of volunteers who gave their time to make the afternoon possible, and, of course, to everyone who came along, took part and supported the event.

After another fantastic Colour Run, attention now turns to the next date in the PTA calendar – our Fireworks Party on Friday 7 November. We look forward to seeing the St Gabriel’s community come together once again!
