A Miracle in Town: KS1 Nativity Brings Festive Joy to St Gabriel’s

On Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 December, families were warmly welcomed to St Gabriel’s for this year’s KS1 Nativity production, A Miracle in Town, a charming retelling of the Christmas story by Niki Davies.
Every child from Reception to Year 2 took part, creating a beautifully festive and joy-filled performance that truly showcased their hard work and enthusiasm.
Reception pupils brought the magic of Christmas to life as shepherds and angels, while Year 1 delighted the audience as camels and pages. Our Year 2 pupils, the most seasoned performers of the group, stepped confidently into the lead roles and delivered a heartwarming performance.
The children have been rehearsing since half term, learning lines, practising songs, and building confidence together. Their hard work was clear to see; every song was performed with gusto and every role embraced with pride.
Before each performance, parents and family members gathered in Gabbies café to enjoy coffees and mince pies, adding a warm and social start to the festive occasion. A retiring collection was taken in aid of local Thatcham-based charity Swings & Smiles, which supports disabled children and their families through respite, inclusive play sessions, youth clubs, sibling support and outreach.
If you would like to support our collection for Swings & Smiles, there is still time. Donations can be made via our JustGiving page here.
It was a truly wonderful celebration of teamwork, talent and Christmas cheer—an occasion that will be fondly remembered by pupils, staff and families alike.
