Year 8 Delight Juniors with Valentine’s Pop-Up Play

On Friday 13 February, our Year 8 pupils treated the Junior School to a wonderfully entertaining pop-up play, bringing a touch of Valentine’s fun and creativity to the end of term.

Written by Year 8 pupil Emmy F, the original short performance was brought to life by a talented cast of six pupils. The play followed a humorous tale of Cupid’s well-meaning but slightly chaotic matchmaking. When a co-worker accidentally eats a love potion sweetie intended for someone else, confusion quickly unfolds, leading to a series of comical misunderstandings and unexpected twists.

The 10-minute production was full of energy, humour and imagination, capturing the attention of the younger audience from start to finish. A particular highlight for the Junior School pupils was the moment when “Cupid’s remedy” sweeties were distributed among the audience, adding an interactive element that was met with great excitement.

The performance showcased not only the creativity and confidence of our Year 8 pupils, but also their ability to engage and entertain a younger audience. From scriptwriting to acting, the pupils demonstrated fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm throughout.

Well done to all involved for delivering such a fun and memorable performance – a perfect way to spread a little Valentine’s cheer across the school!
