Nursery Children Enjoy a Musical Visit from a Special Guest

On Monday 9 February, St Gabriel’s Nursery was delighted to welcome Mr Symington, one of our Nursery parents, who kindly brought his cello to share a special musical experience with our children.
Toddlers and Pre-School pupils were captivated as they listened to the rich, resonant sound of the cello and joined in singing along to a selection of familiar children’s songs. The session sparked great curiosity and excitement, particularly when the children were invited to have a turn plucking the strings themselves, exploring the different sounds the instrument could make.
At St Gabriel’s Nursery, we are committed to providing our young learners with enriching experiences that broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world around them. As part of this, we are currently inviting musical members of our school community to visit the Nursery and introduce children to a wide range of instruments and musical styles.
Music plays a powerful role in early childhood development. It is a universal language, offering children a means of non-verbal expression and emotional regulation, while also helping to stimulate brain development and neural connections in ways that everyday activities may not.
We are incredibly grateful to Mr Symington for sharing his time and talent with our Nursery children and for making this such a memorable and joyful experience.
