Sporting Success at European Laser Run and Triathle Trials

Over the May bank holiday weekend, Year 8 pupil Liam competed in the European trials for two modern pentathlon disciplines — Laser Run and Triathle — held in Dorset.
These events form part of the selection process to represent Great Britain at the European Championships in Turkey later this year.
Despite being one of the youngest in his age group, Liam delivered two strong performances across the weekend. In Saturday’s Laser Run event, which combines running and laser shooting over three rounds, he fought hard to climb through the field and finished a commendable 7th overall, contributing to a Team Bronze.
On Sunday, Liam returned for the Triathle, a more complex event featuring two rounds of shooting and running followed by a shoot–swim–run. Demonstrating excellent composure and stamina, he secured an individual Bronze medal and helped his team to a Gold.
This result guarantees Liam selection for the Triathle team, with confirmation of the remaining disciplines expected in the coming weeks. We are incredibly proud of his continued dedication and progress in this demanding multi-discipline sport.
Well done, Liam — a fantastic achievement!
