Year 5 Pupils Enjoy Inspiring Senior School Taster Day

On Monday 6 July, we were delighted to welcome a wonderful group of Year 5 pupils to St Gabriel's for our annual Senior School Taster Day – an exciting opportunity to experience life as a member of our Senior School community.

Open to both current St Gabriel's pupils and children from local primary schools, the day offered a glimpse into what life in Year 7 is all about, combining engaging activities, exciting lessons and the chance to meet new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The day began with a series of team-building challenges led by Hub Challenge – Wise Up Team Building. Working together to solve problems and complete a variety of fun tasks, pupils quickly built confidence, developed teamwork skills and got to know one another. The activities created a fantastic atmosphere and set the tone for a day filled with enthusiasm and collaboration.

In the afternoon, pupils enjoyed a carousel of taster lessons in Music, Computing and Geography. From exploring creative musical ideas and coding challenges to discovering fascinating geographical concepts, each lesson gave pupils a taste of the exciting opportunities that await them in the Senior School.

Lunch was enjoyed together in the marquee, where pupils tucked into pizza before taking the opportunity to relax, chat and make the most of the glorious summer weather. It was wonderful to see friendships forming and conversations flowing as pupils enjoyed spending time together around the school grounds.

Throughout the day, our Sixth Form ambassadors were on hand to support the Year 5 pupils, guiding groups between activities, sharing their own experiences of Senior School life and answering questions with warmth, confidence and enthusiasm. Their encouragement played an important role in helping everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrived.
