Senior Lunchtime Concert Showcases Musical Talent

On Tuesday 10 March, pupils, parents and staff gathered in the Oval Room for the latest Senior Lunchtime Concert, a relaxed and enjoyable occasion that gives pupils the opportunity to practise performing in front of a friendly audience.

The programme featured a wonderful range of musical styles and instruments. Ivy opened the concert with Fiddle Time Rag on the violin, followed by Megan, who performed The Bounce and Esquisse. Kitty delighted the audience with Circus Pony, while Sophia performed the beautiful Always With Me from the film Spirited Away on the piano. The concert concluded with Clare, who performed the Second Movement of the Sonata for Flute by Poulenc with great skill and expression.

The concert was particularly special as it marked Clare’s final lunchtime concert at St Gabriel’s. Now in Year 13, Clare has been performing in school concerts since Year 2, and her many performances over the years have been a valued part of the school’s musical life.

While she will certainly be missed at future concerts, we look forward to seeing Clare continue to share her musical talents in the years ahead.

Well done to all of the performers for such an enjoyable lunchtime of music.
