Elsy Completes London Landmarks Half Marathon for NHS Charity

We are incredibly proud of our Head Prefect, Elsy (Year 13), who recently took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon — an inspiring achievement made even more impressive by the fact that she only began running six months ago.
In the lead‑up to the event, Elsy followed a dedicated 12‑week training programme, running three times a week (often in the rain) while balancing the demands of her A‑level studies. For her, the challenge was about more than completing the distance; it was a personal milestone.
“I wanted to prove to myself that I could do hard things before sitting my A‑levels,” Elsy shared. “I’d been doubting whether I could achieve the results I wanted, and running gave me a way to switch off from the stress and relax. It’s something I’ll definitely continue.”
Elsy chose to run in support of NHS Charities Together, the national charity supporting NHS trusts across the UK. The cause holds deep personal meaning for her and her family, who have been supported by the NHS throughout her life.
Her efforts have already raised over £900, contributing both vital funds and greater awareness of the charity’s work. Elsy was supported on the day by her friends and fellow St Gabriel's students who cheered her to the finish line!
Completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon is a remarkable achievement in itself, but doing so with such purpose, resilience and generosity makes it even more special.
Congratulations, Elsy — a wonderful example of determination, leadership and community spirit.
If you'd like to donate to Elsy's fundraiser for the NHS Trusts, there's still time to support this fantastic cause here.
