Sport
Sport at St Gabriel’s gives pupils the opportunity to be part of a team, learn about themselves under pressure and challenge their body physically and mentally. Sport is far more than what happens on the sports field or court. Sport instils lifelong values such as confidence, discipline, respect, decision-making skills, a strong work ethic as well as leadership skills. We understand that a positive sporting experience at school encourages a lifelong love of sport and exercise.
Whether you are a performance athlete on a sports scholarship, or a developing athlete, our experienced sports department looks forward to supporting you on your journey.
Sport for all....
A sports programme focused on the person, participation and progress.
- Person: To develop, understand and support the person first and athlete second, shaping leaders through sport who are respectful, resilient, compassionate and effective problem-solvers.
- Participation: To instil a lifelong love of sport, nurture enjoyment of training and competition, and promote physical activity across the school with 100% participation.
- Progress: To create an environment where both aspiring and everyday athletes make progress in their sport, health and wellbeing, developing intelligent sportspeople who are agile, powerful and robust.
