Year 4 Enjoy an Action‑Packed Residential at Ufton Court

Year 4 returned from their first ever overnight residential at Ufton Court buzzing with excitement after two days of adventure, discovery and hands‑on learning.

Set within 44 acres of ancient woodland on the Berkshire–Hampshire border, Ufton Court is known for its immersive approach to outdoor and historical education — and it proved the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience.

From the moment they arrived, pupils embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. They explored the beautiful grounds, worked brilliantly in teams and threw themselves into activities designed to deepen their understanding of Tudor life and culture. The residential linked directly to their History topic, helping them appreciate the effects of religious tensions in Tudor England and encouraging them to ask thoughtful questions about contrasts, connections and trends across the period.

One of the highlights of the trip was a lively Tudor banquet, where pupils enjoyed traditional‑style entertainment and fully immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the era. Laughter filled the hall as they took part in role‑play, storytelling and even some light‑hearted mock executions — all safely delivered as part of Ufton Court’s expertly led historical programme.

Throughout the residential, pupils demonstrated curiosity, resilience and a wonderful sense of adventure. Whether navigating woodland trails, stepping into the shoes of Tudor villagers or collaborating on group challenges, they showed maturity and enthusiasm that made the trip a joy for staff to witness.

The Year 4 residential was not only tremendous fun but also a powerful learning experience, creating memories that will stay with pupils for years to come.
