Year 6 Residential: A Week of Adventure at Mill on the Brue

Year 6 have returned from an action‑packed week at Mill on the Brue Outdoor Adventure Centre in Somerset — a trip filled with challenge, teamwork and unforgettable moments.

From the moment they arrived, pupils threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm, resilience and huge smiles.

The week was packed with outdoor challenges designed to build confidence and cooperation. Pupils tackled tunnelling, crate stacking, raft building, climbing walls, assault courses and the ever‑popular zip line, cheering each other on every step of the way.

They also enjoyed bushcraft, pizza making, escape room challenges, and the brilliantly chaotic blindfolded nightline, which tested communication and trust in the best possible way.

After full days outdoors, the fun continued into the evenings with games, treats and plenty of laughter. Pupils made the most of their downtime — some relaxing with friends, others squeezing in just a bit more adventure before bed.

Throughout the week, Year 6 showed exceptional teamwork, bravery and determination. Whether they were supporting a classmate on the climbing wall or working together to solve a tricky problem‑solving task, they demonstrated maturity and camaraderie that made staff incredibly proud.

The Mill on the Brue team were full of praise for the group, commenting on their positive attitude, kindness and willingness to give everything a go.

A Week to Remember

From conquering fears to discovering new strengths, this was a residential full of growth, laughter and memories that will stay with Year 6 for years to come. A well‑earned rest over half‑term now awaits!
