A Star-Studded Evening at the Spring Dinner

On Thursday 19 March, students and staff came together for one of the highlights of the school calendar – the much-anticipated Spring Dinner.
This special annual event offers pupils in Years 11, 12 and 13 the opportunity to enjoy a formal, celebratory evening at school. Organised and beautifully orchestrated by our Year 13 pupils, the event showcased their creativity and flair, with this year’s theme of “Hollywood.”
The dining room was transformed into a spectacular, star-studded setting, complete with elegant table arrangements, eye-catching decorations, and a dazzling seating plan worthy of the red carpet. The evening began at 6pm with pre-dinner drinks in the stunning Oval Room, where pupils arrived in formal attire, looking every bit the Hollywood stars.
Guests were then invited to walk the red carpet in the dining room and have their photos taken, before going on to enjoy a delicious three-course meal, thoughtfully chosen by the pupils themselves. The evening began with freshly baked breads, dipping oils, and mezze sharers, followed by a choice of Katsu Curry, Lemon & Garlic Pasta, or ‘Fancy’ Fish and Chips with baked fillets and sweet potato fries. The meal concluded with a delicious trio of desserts.
The evening was further enhanced by live music from the Sixth Form band. Bella and Josie captivated the audience with wonderful performances of Midnight Sun by Zara Larsson and La Seine, providing the perfect soundtrack to a truly memorable evening.
The Spring Dinner was a fantastic occasion, bringing together our Senior School and Sixth Form community to celebrate their journey at St Gabriel’s so far. With exams on the horizon, it was a perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and enjoy a glamorous evening of friendship and celebration.
