Aditi Crowned U15 Girls County Squash Champion

St Gabriel's Year 10 pupil, Aditi R, has been crowned U15 Girls County Champion after winning all her matches at the Junior Closed 2025 Squash Tournament on Saturday 13 September.

This latest victory is part of a remarkable season for Aditi, who has also achieved a career-high European ranking of 7th, climbing from 15th last year thanks to her impressive consistency on the court. Earlier this month, she placed 4th at the Karakal Welsh Junior Open 2025 in Cardiff and now looks ahead to a busy run of tournaments, including events in Essex (20 September), Chichester (27 September), and the Nordic Junior Open in Malmo, Sweden (3 October).

Behind these achievements is an incredibly rigorous training schedule. Aditi trains or plays squash almost every day, with regular sessions alongside top coaches Alex Phillips in Winchester and Ben Rossec in Abingdon, as well as practice matches with her father — who proudly admits he can no longer keep up with her pace. In addition, Aditi represents Aldermaston, Winchester and Abingdon squash clubs in county leagues and competes across junior tournaments, adult graded events, and the Abingdon internal box leagues.

St Gabriel’s Principal Ricki Smith said:
"Aditi is a shining example of the hard work, passion, and determination we encourage in all our pupils. To achieve this level of success while balancing her academic studies is inspiring, and we are immensely proud of her achievements."

With her relentless commitment and recent successes, Aditi is firmly establishing herself as one of the most exciting young players to watch on the European squash circuit.
