Schools from across West Berkshire were invited to nominate students, teachers, and coaches, with hundreds of nominations received and a panel of organisers and Sports Partnership leaders selecting the final shortlists.

St Gabriel’s were proud to have two well-deserved finalists on the night. Our U13 Netball Team were shortlisted for Team of the Year following their exceptional season, which culminated in qualifying for the national ISA Netball Finals and triumphing in the Plate competition. With over 300 nominations in this category, being recognised as runners-up is a fantastic achievement. Lola and Alice represented the team at the ceremony and were delighted to collect the award on behalf of their teammates. Special thanks must also go to Mrs Joseph, who coached the team to success, giving up her time before and after school to support and inspire the girls.

Meanwhile, huge congratulations go to our Head of Curriculum PE, Verity Brazendale, who was awarded Outstanding Contribution to School Sport. This award recognises her dedication, talent, and commitment, both on and off the court, and we are thrilled that her achievements have been celebrated on such a stage.

It was a wonderful evening of recognition and celebration, and we are immensely proud of all our nominees for their contributions to sport at St Gabriel’s.
