Sailing on the High Seas
On 27th - 29th April, 12 brave St Gabriel's girls took on the high seas and spent their weekend sailing on The John Laing, a 70 foot Ketch based in Southampton. Onboard not only did we take turns keeping lookout, hoisting the sails and steering the boat but we also had to prepare meals for all 18 crew members - no mean feat!

Creative Writers Inspired by Award-Winning Novelist
Our creative writers enjoyed a fantastic week with the Arvon Foundation at Totleigh Barton, Devon. Tutors for the week were Catherine Smith, who writes both prose and poetry and has adapted material for the BBC, and Tim Liardet, who is a lecturer at Bath Spa University and has published several poetry collections. We were also joined by award-winning novelist Tim Bowler for an inspiring evening of readings; he also gave us excellent hints and tips for our own writing.

Young Enterprise Company win Best Trade Stand Award
Forget Me Not this year's Young Enterprise company recently won the award to Best Trade Stand in the regional competition. Students have taken on a variety of business roles and learned many useful business lesson including the importance of meeting deadlines, effective communication and team working.

Pre-Prep Sharing Morning
Parents of children approaching school age are invited to join us at our Pre-Prep Sharing Morning, which will take place on Friday, 18 May, between 10.00am - 11.45am. This is an opportunity for parents to meet the staff and tour the facilities enjoyed by the Pre-Prep Department, whilst their child can have a taste of life in Nursery and Reception at St Gabriels.
