St Gabriel's Sports Science Graduate Receives Award

Helen BarrettFormer St Gabriel's Sixth Former and University of Portsmouth sports science graduate Helen Barrett was recently awarded the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Honorary Fellows Undergraduate Dissertation of the Year Award 2008 for her dissertation titled “the impact of team pre-match body language and stored stimulus information on opponent outcome expectancy, episodic and dispositional judgements”.

BASES requests students from Universities across the country who are studying sports science submit their dissertations for review. The best one is then picked to receive the award. Helen graduated in July 2008 and is now planning to start an MSc in Sport Psychology at University of Chichester in September 2009. In addition to the award, Helen receives £200 of BASES vouchers to be used for workshop or conference attendance.
