Year 5 Learn New Skill in Archery, Boccia, New Age Curling and Seated Volleyball

On Wednesday 23 October I  took a team of six year five girls to try four new sports which were showcased during the Paralympic Games last summer. We all took part in Archery, Boccia, New age curling and seated volleyball. We had to very quickly pick up new skills and the rules of the games as we competed against lots of other schools during the afternoon.

We all gained a lot from the session, became far more self reliant and learnt many new skills. I have already asked to loan the equipment so that all the girls can have a go at these new alternative sports during our turn up and play sessions.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
