National Young Mathematician Award
On Wednesday 2nd November, four girls in Year 6 (Tara Conway, Kate Eastwick-Jones, Alex Phillip and Jenna Seal) took part in Round One of the National Young Mathematician Award. The girls were asked to solve a multi-layered, high-level problem. They were assessed on their ability to get to the root of the problem, to be systematic in their approach, to work as a team and to use good recording systems. I am very pleased to announce that these girls have got through to Round Two. This is a fantastic achievement and the girls are particularly excited about taking part in the second round.
